THE BEST STABILIZED LENSES AND CAMERAS NEED A LITTLE HELP
WHY ARE STRONG TRIPODS AND STRONG TRIPOD HEADS IMPORTANT
WHAT IS A DIGITAL "BRIDGE" CAMERA? WILL IT WORK FOR OUR WORKSHOPS? YES IT WILL!
We have had a great many questions as to what kind of cameras can students use for a workshop. In reality, almost any camera would be fine, with an understanding of what the cameras limitations are. - The classes are generally geared towards Digital Single Lens Reflex Cameras, but with the incredible technology that has been packed into some of the fixed lens cameras, it would seem to me that they hold a place right up there with the SLR type. - We call these bridge cameras. - They have pretty much all the primary controls of a SLR but do not have interchangeable lenses, and usually have a smaller sensor. - These types of cameras are most certainly acceptable for Blue Ridge Workshops. It is important to remember however, that they do not always provide the quickest responses. Cameras such as the Nikon P6000, Canon G10, Olympus UZ series, as well as products by Casio, Fuji, Panasonic, etc. (See how a bridge camera is defined, below.(((((LIKE ANY OTHER CAMERA, PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER THAT WHILE WE ARE UP ON MOST OF THE CAMERA GEAR THAT IS OUT THERE, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU BRING YOUR INSTRUCTION BOOKS FOR YOUR PARTICULAR CAMERA MODEL. )))))
